Team Morale and Team Work

Everyone knows that team morale, team energy, and team dynamics can make or break a project. How can a project manager influence morale and energy? What are 'dynamics' anyway? How can we measure these things? Is it even possible to measure and change these things?

Most project management experts leave these issues under the label of 'leadership'. These problems are hard to define and hard to solve. This one-hour session will offer several ways to

• Make these issues concrete and measurable
• Influence your team, improving morale and energy

This session is NOT your typical session on "How to influence without authority." You will learn about at least one technique that you have never heard of before, or that you have never considered applying in a business setting. These are real techniques that work, not something taken from a textbook on leadership.

This session includes three one-hour recordings of the live web seminars. You will be able to interact with me via an on-line discussion area. Bring your toughest questions and your most difficult problems. We will work on them together.

Learning Objectives

• Be able to list several new, unconventional techniques to have an impact on your team morale and your team members' ability to work together
• Understand the strengths and limits of each new technique
• Learn to assess the culture of the company when deciding which techniques to use
• Create a plan to use one or more of these techniques with your team, in a way that respects the business culture, current team dynamics, and individual personalities of your team members

About the Presenter: Alex S. Brown, PMP IPMA-C
