"I LOVE/HATE Sales: Confessions of a Project Manager"
Sales and project management professionals have a love/hate relationship. In most companies, neither one can survive without the other, yet they are constantly in conflict with each other.
Project managers want to see the steps and methods to deliver results to clients. The priority is the final results, not the hard work of building demand for those results. Sales people want to make the sale to the client, and often they do not care how the results are finally delivered. These differences can be the foundation for a wonderful, harmonious relationship or a brutally difficult conflict.
