“I am excited to be a part of IvyLeagueSpeakers.com. I look forward to sharing my stories with business and executive audiences through this speaker’s bureau,” said Mr. Brown, a graduate of Princeton University. “Audiences are looking for insight and content from public speakers these days, and I think a lot of event organizers will be interested in working with IvyLeagueSpeakers.com to find new speakers.”

IvyLeagueSpeakers.com puts 25% of its speakers’ fees into scholarships for students who want to attend Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, or Yale. John M. Kocol, IvyLeagueSpeakers.com founder, said, “Ivy league schools cost too much money. I started this bureau to help make a difference in the lives of deserving students. I am glad to be able to represent speakers like Alex, who want to help people get a top-quality education.”

###

IvyLeagueSpeakers.com represents speakers who are Ivy League alumni, with speaking fees ranging from $2,000 to $1,00,000 USD. The bureau started as a Harvard alumni discussion group to help alumni improve their public speaking skills. The bureau was founded by John M. Kocol, and represents a variety of Ivy League speakers.

Alex S. Brown, PMP IPMA-C (http://www.alexsbrown.com) is a project leader and speaker in the area of strategic planning and project management. He is President of Real-Life Projects, Inc. (http://rlprj.com), and provides advice to project leaders and executives as a consultant, trainer, and speaker.

Belle Mead, NJ – 16 April 2010: April is National Stress Awareness Month, and project managers are celebrating. The deadlines, demands, and occasional disappointments of project work-life make project management an extremely stressful job.

“Particularly after a year like 2009, many project managers are feeling under tremendous pressure. Although the economy seems to be improving, many companies have been slow to begin hiring again, and many are still setting conservative project budgets in 2010,” said Alex S. Brown, PMP IPMA-C, President of Real-Life Projects, Inc.

“I think all project managers deserve a break,” said Mr. Brown. “To celebrate National Stress Awareness Month, my company is announcing a new partnership with HeartMath® LLC, a leading company in the area of stress management.”

Real-Life Projects, Inc. has become an authorized reseller of HeartMath products, including the emWave Personal Stress Reliever® (PSR) and emWave® Desktop products. The company will also be offering a series of web-based seminars about stress management for project managers in April.

“Project managers are constantly seeking new data and information to help track their projects. HeartMath and its emWave products help give people quantitative information about their reactions to stressful events. I have personally found their products to be extremely helpful in reducing the negative effects of stress in my life, and I cannot wait to introduce them to the project management community,” said Mr. Brown.

emWave Desktop is based on 18 years of research on the relationship between stress and emotions. Research has shown that the heart is a key component of the emotional system and it not only responds to emotion, the signals generated by its rhythmic activity actually play a major role in determining the quality of our emotional experiences.

Catherine Calarco, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HeartMath LLC, says, “Our emWave technologies are helping to change lives for the better. They help people reduce the negative effects of stress, allowing them to experience greater health, increased energy, and improved emotional balance and mental
clarity.”

HeartMath research has demonstrated that different emotional states create different patterns of heart rhythm activity. The various emotions we experience have distinct effects on cognitive and emotional function. When we’re stressed and feeling negative emotions, the heart rhythm pattern is erratic and disordered. This inhibits higher cognitive functions, limiting our ability to think clearly, remember, learn, reason and make effective decisions. Conversely, when we learn to consciously generate increased heart rhythm coherence through feeling and sustaining positive emotions, it not only benefits the entire body, but also profoundly affects how we perceive, think, feel and perform.

Real-Life Projects is offering HeartMath products for sale through its web site at www.rlprj.com immediately, and has three live web seminars scheduled for April 21 to 27. All three events will be eligible for Project Management Institute (PMI) Professional Development Units (PDUs) for PMI credential-holders. Real-Life Projects is a PMI Registered Education Provider.

Belle Mead, NJ – 6 April 2010: Alex S. Brown, PMP IPMA-C President of Real-Life Projects, Inc. announced today that he is renewing and extending the company’s reseller partnership agreement with Intaver Institute. The company is launching a series of web seminars for Intaver’s flagship RiskyProject software product.

“My clients work on high-risk, high-profile projects. Their projects are fundamentally uncertain, based around sales and marketing forecasts. They need a tool like RiskyProject, that allows them to model and manage those project risks. Lev Virine and the other professionals at Intaver have been working with us since 2008, and this year I wanted to extend our partnership,” said Mr. Brown.

Real-Life Projects is launching a series of web seminars highlighting the practical use of RiskyProject. These events are targeted towards project managers who are getting started doing Monte Carlo simulations of project schedules.

“Before I actually started using Monte Carlo tools, I was a little overwhelmed by the mathematics and the possibilities that this software opens up. I hope to help a new generation of project managers overcome that feeling, and to begin to use the tool in a wider variety of projects,” said Mr. Brown.

These web seminars will be offered live in April 2010, and will be available as recordings at the Real-Life Projects web site (www.rlprj.com).

Belle Mead, NJ – 17 March 2010: Alex S. Brown, PMP IPMA-C announced the 2010 schedule today for his web seminar series for experienced project managers. Subscription and registration prices are discounted 20% to 50% until March 31, in celebration of the launch.

The schedule includes sessions on managing stress, running meetings, Monte Carlo risk modeling, and Microsoft Project. Negotiation expert Greg Williams will give a guest presentation on project negotiations.

“With the tough economy and tight airport security, companies are more and more reluctant to fly their project management staff to classes and conferences. I am glad we can provide this cost-effective alternative for experienced project managers,” said Alex S. Brown, President of Real-Life Projects, Inc. “The web seminar or webinar format is ideal for this group. It is hard to get away from the office, but even busy professionals can attend a one-hour event from their office, or listen to a podcast during their commute.”

This is the second year of the series, and 2009 held some surprises for the organizers. “I thought everyone would want to come to the live events, so they could ask questions. Instead, most people said they were too busy, and they would rather listen to a recording. We had to create on-line discussion areas, so that people who listened to the recording could still get their questions answered,” Alex said.

This year Alex will be joined by negotiations expert Greg Williams in September, for three sessions focusing on project negotiations. “As soon as I heard Greg speak about negotiations, I wanted to find a way to get him in front of this audience. Project managers need to hear his message about body language and overcoming fear in negotiations. I am glad he agreed to be a guest speaker,” Alex said.

The series begins 23 March 2010 and runs through December. The full schedule and registration information is available at http://secure.rlprj.com/cart/.

All events will be eligible for Professional Development Unit (PDU) credit for Project Management Institute (PMI) certification holders, including Project Management Professional (PMP) and Program Management Professional (PgMP) certifications.

Real-Life Projects (www.rlprj.com) is a consulting and education company, serving experienced project managers and executives who oversee projects. Real-Life Projects is a PMI Registered Education Provider (R.E.P.). Alex S. Brown, PMP IPMA-C is the President of this Belle Mead, NJ USA company.

Greg Williams, a member of National Speakers Association, is a negotiation expert, with an extensive background in Public Speaking, Training, and delivering Keynotes. Greg is the author of the highly acclaimed audio CD sets, “How To Negotiate Your Way To Success”, “How to Become a Dynamic Interviewer – Developed For The Savvy H.R. Professional”, and the latest besteller titled “Negotiate – Afraid, Know More (AKM).”
