Project Negotiations
(Project-Negotiations)
This course requires an enrollment keyProject managers are constantly negotiating deadlines, resources, assignments, and deliverables. To be a great project manager, you must be a great negotiator.
Greg Williams, an expert on the topic of negotiation, will join us as a guest speaker for these sessions. This three-part seminar will cover:
- Overcoming Your Fears
- Body Language
- Principled Negotiating
Many project managers are uncomfortable with the idea of negotiating. It seems confrontational. We want to work with people, not against them. Learn how to overcome your own fears and misgivings about the process of negotiation. Learn why a good negotiation is good for all parties. By identifying and handling negotiations well, you become a better business partner to all your project stakeholders.
Uncover ways to read and understand nonverbal signals (Body Language), by using Physiognomics. Physiognomics is a tool, used for the interpretation of body language, based on body structure. It is like a polygraph of the body, and as all good negotiators know, the body never lies! Greg is an expert in reading body language during negotiations, and using it effectively to reach agreements.
This session focuses on "principled negotiation", the approach made famous in the book "Getting to Yes". These techniques are especially important to project managers, who usually must preserve a long-term relationship while still negotiating the best possible outcome for a project.
